The Utah Technology Council, a non-profit trade organization, is looking for a professional Membership Director of Sales to work under the direction of the CEO and COO to grow membership and sponsorships and renew existing members.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Securing new members and renewing current members.
  • Managing relationships and value propositions for over 200 member organizations, ensuring a return on their investment.
  • Process membership applications, generating invoices monthly, and following up with collections.
  • Conduct weekly A/R meeting with COO and Finance Manager.
  • Dig deep within memberships to build multiple contacts within each member company.
  • Upgrade members to industry investors, and also renewing industry investors.
  • Assist Event Manager on deciding which investors get to host which events.
  • Assist Event Manager on which investors should present at monthly Clinic Series.
  • Selling event sponsorships for Hall of Fame, Golf Tournament, Industry Breakfast and Lunches, Executive Forums Series, and any other event that can generate revenue.
  • Assist in Corporate Partnership program by working with vendors to generate non-dues revenue (e.g. discounts on telecom, office supplies, etc.).
  • Engage Board Members in recruiting new members. This includes assignments at Executive Committee and Board meetings.
  • Develop and update sales collateral.
  • Generate new member and renewing member packets with thank you letters monthly.
  • Coordinate new member orientations monthly. All aspects: inviting members, conducting meeting, building PowerPoint.
  • Know our members to be able to identify who to invite to particular meetings, nominate for leadership roles, suggest for presentations, get involved in a public policy issues, etc.
  • Sell upgrades through directory listings, web advertising, job board postings.
  • Help manage Golf Tournament and committee.
  • Use social media channels as prospecting tool (i.e. LinkedIn).
  • Assist with event management and prep when needed.
  • Annual Hall of Fame gala - responsible for networking reception, identifying VIP reception attendees, seating arrangements, and ensuring sponsors get the recognition and value they feel they deserve.
  • Recommend special invitations to dignitaries and VIPs to appropriate events.
  • Conduct a weekly sales meeting with CEO, utilizing resources and leveraging relationships to grow membership.
  • Provide Member Spotlight, and new member/renewal recognition for newsletter.
  • Establish relationships with peers across the country for a resource on best practices.
  • Drive attendance and promote events.
