The Utah Technology Council, a non-profit trade organization, is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Event Manager to produce events from conception through completion. Our ideal candidate will work with the CEO to create new and innovate member engagement events, including experiences like our Executive Forums, Expert Clinics, Techlunches, Hall of Fame, golf invitational, CEO roundtables, breakfasts and luncheons, educational events, annual open house, and other activities.

The abilities to multitask and prioritize are essential, as this role involves overseeing facilities as well as details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc. At its core, UTC exists to help Utah's tech sector expand the talent pipeline, enhance the business climate, and foster tech innovation within the Utah technology community. -Ability to oversee multiple projects independently.

-Well organized, detail oriented and resourceful -Exceptional communication skills to liaise with members, identify their needs, and execute successful events

-Able to anticipate needs

-Able to build relationships with tech executives to assist in building events and acquiring speakers; -People skills needed to staff events and coordinate their activities.

-Enthusiasm regarding collaborative work with marketing and PR departments to promote and publicize events.

-Proactive approach to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems on the event day.

-Excellent computer skills Excel, Word, Dreamweaver, and CRM

-Experience in securing sponsorships a plus

-Non-profit experience a plus

-Negotiating contracts.


Primary Responsibilities:

-Create and execute up to 70 events annually

-Management of all project elements within time limits and on budget.

-Manage staff responsibilities for event coordination activities.

-Create and manage budget

-Book venues and negotiate fees.

-Plan menus, order food, and hire caterers.

-Conduct pre-and post-event evaluations, reporting on the outcomes.

-Research skills to identify event opportunities, understand the market, and generate interest.
